Staff

The vet clinic staff welcomes you to the Lancaster Wisconsin area! We hope you will stop in and meet us personally at our office south of Lancaster. We love to hear stories of your pets and animals, and hope you will listen as we share our stories as well.

Cari Schaffer, DVM

p-cariCari Schaffer is co-owner of the vet clinic. She works with both large and small animals, but specializes in the care of small animals. Cari coordinates the cat and dog vaccination and health care clinics and writes the PetTalk column for the local newspaper. Talk to her about the pets waiting for adoption in the Grant County Pound. She is also busy making farm calls and caring for horses, cattle and pigs.

Sally Harper, DVM

p-sallySally Harper is co-owner of the Lancaster Vet Clinic. She also works with both large and small animals, but specializes in the care of large animals. Sally spends most of her time making farm calls to the area dairy cattle and goat farms, working with area sheep and beef producers, and caring for horses and pigs.

Craig Humphreys, DVM

Craig Humphreys is semi-retired and works as an associate vet. As the previous owner of the clinic, his experience serving the dairy, beef, and hog farmers in the area is greatly appreciated.

Jill Drinkwater, Certified Vet Technician

img_4077-wince_edited1Jill Drinkwater, CVT  on (left)  handles many responsibilities but primarily takes care of the animals waiting for surgery and the intensive care sick animals in the clinic. She helps with surgeries,  performs dentals  on dogs and cats  and keeps the lab and clinic running smoothly. Amanda Kipper, CVT on (right) will take in your pets information in the exam rooms and relay information back to doctor. Assist with lab, surgeries, dentals, and help with post surgery care.

Office Staff

 Sandy Ehlen  on (left)  is our new front office receptionist, she answers the phone, schedules appointments and will be the one greeting you with her beautiful smile when you come in for an appointment!  

Amanda Simpson (right) is our kennel manager,  full-time groomer and is in charge of the Grant County Pound website. 

 

p-sueSue Ellis is our accountant and bookkeeper. She helps occasionally with the phone and scheduling but prefers to spend time with the financial accounts and her computer.

You may also see a variety of high school students working around the building. We participate with the On-the-Job Training (OJT) programs with our local high schools. The students come in the afternoon and help with the many tasks necessary to keep the clinic running smoothly. We certainly appreciate their help.

We also offer job shadowing, veterinary student internships and vet technician internships. (See Madison Area Technical College Vet Tech program.) If you are interested in the field of veterinary medicine, please contact us.

Thank you one and all, who helped make our 24th Annual Cat Castration Clinic a great success.  We neutered 197 male cats that morning.  Thanks again!
